The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal was awarded to any member of the United States Armed Forces who
serviced in the Pacific Theater during World War II. It was created on November 6th, 1942 by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
There were 48 Navy/Marine official campaigns of the Pacific Theater, denoted on the service ribbon
by campaign stars. U.S.S. Gunston Hall LSD-5 served in nine of these campaigns and therefore earned
